Maximise Your Relationship Potential

***We regret that this weekend workshop at City Lit, Central London, scheduled for Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July 2016 has been cancelled due to insufficient enrolments. It’s not expected to be rescheduled at the current time***

Within the context of all different types of couple relationship (for example, straight or LGBTI), we will explore:

  • Communication – learning useful tools for the discussion of difficult matters in a safe and non-confrontational way;
  • Needs and values – understanding how to get in touch with our individual needs and their importance in relationship;
  • Dynamics – how our unconscious attraction patterns and conflicting needs for intimacy and autonomy play out in relationship;
  • Cultural differences – the recognition of how different cultural values affect relationships.

(comments from previous participants):

“Thank you for your amazingly wonderful and in-depth course. We have been using the tools and it has revolutionised our relationship and allowed the love to be more present. Many thanks and we would love to be informed if you are doing any more.”

“The course was very structured and the content was very important. Debbie and Simon explained the ‘complicated’ relationship issues in a very easy to understand manner. Materials were excellent, role plays were very useful.”

“It was much more thorough and informative than I expected. Good balance of practical exercises and informed theory.”

“Very good, as the tutors were in a professional as well as a personal relationship, they were teaching from practical experience.”

Past workshops:

Maximise Your Relationship Potential, Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July 2015 – City Lit, Central London

With a change in the title (from Improving Couple Relationships), we overhauled this course a little based on past experience. The most significant alteration was allowing more time for the practical exercises, which proved to be a worthwhile revision.

Improving Couple Relationships, Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July 2014 – City Lit, Central London

Having run this course a few times now, it’s interesting to see how it varies depending on the group members and their individual contributions. We really appreciated the comments and observations from our participants over the weekend, and it was great to see the return of one group member who was on this workshop last year and wanted to come back for more!

Improving Couple Relationships, Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th July 2013 – City Lit, Central London

We had a particularly active group this time and witnessed some great learning taking place during the practical exercises; so much so that we think the workshop would benefit from devoting a little more time to this aspect in the future. Our thanks to all who attended.

Improving Couple Relationships, Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd December 2012 – City Lit, Central London

A relationship / personal growth workshop where the men out-numbered the women; just! It was great to have more of a balance between the sexes this time and we hope this continues for future workshops. We also had two couples among the group (one straight and one gay), plus attendees from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Such diversity enriches an interactive workshop such as this, in which we encourage the sharing of individual experiences and points of view. We’d like to thank all of you for your willingness to participate and for your positive feedback on the workshop.

Improving Couple Relationships, Saturday 30th June & Sunday 1st July 2012 – City Lit, Central London

Despite the slight change in the title, this workshop was based on the same successful formula as before. Thanks to all who attended for your generous participation. We had a slightly larger group this time, but no couples! Fortunately, we’ve designed this workshop so that it’s just as relevant to single people considering a relationship, or those attending without their partner.

Improving Romantic Relationships, Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th December 2011 – City Lit, Central London

We were delighted to conduct this new two-day workshop at City Lit, Covent Garden and would like to thank everyone who attended for making it such an enjoyable and productive experience.
